From BAJI (Black Alliance for Just Immigration): Hello Everyone, It is clear that the U.S. justice system has no respect for black lives. People in Ferguson recognized this as they witnessed first hand the unjust murder of Mike Brown and the recently announced non-indictment for murderer Darren Wilson. Folks in Ferguson are calling on communities across the country to take mass action to disrupt business as usual to demand justice. We are throwing down in the Bay Area in solidarity! This Black Friday (Nov 28th) black people will be taking action in solidarity with those in Ferguson. We are having a gathering this Friday, 9:30am,12th and Mandela in West Oakland. This gathering will be closed to people who identify as Black/ from African Diaspora. Please reply to this email for an RSVP. I will be joining 10 other black organizers/community members in an arrestable civil disobedience that day in Oakland (cant give the details for security purposes). The gathering at 12th and Mandela will be connected to the action that we are taking. It will all make sense on Friday, sorry I cant go into the details but we will all need your spirit, energy, and support this Friday at 12th and Mandela at 9:30am. The #BlackLivesMatter network is mobilizing its base and I am hoping to bring out our folks in BAJI to be in community with those working towards black liberation. We may be in need of a few additional people to be with us at the action deployment. If you would like to be on cite for support you must know that you are risking arrest, although it is lower risk in comparison to the 10 main comrades. Theres a mandatory training tomorrow 2-6pm if you are committed to being cite support.
