From Dr. Frank Sibbalds Journal, June 1876 WEDNESDAY 14 Very hot. Ther. 62 to 84. Wind variable. Large black ring around the sun. Thunderstorm from the N.W. which left the air pleasantly cool in the afternoon. 34/100 of an inch of rain fell — in full force. All the trees including the ash trees on the lake shore quite out in leaf. The blossoms on the fruit trees and mountain ashes gone off. The lilacs fading, honeysuckles in full blossoms.
