From El Paso with Love For Shadow! The Stempels of El Paso have been looking for the right dog for more than a year. Today, they found her, at Animal Village NM. A couple of weeks ago, little Shadow, a petite long-haired Dachshund, was brought in to animal control in Artesia. The precious little girl was bedraggled and matted, with a dirty, torn yellow ribbon in one ear. The family she loved had brought her in, unceremoniously and without explanation handed her to the staff, signed the owner relinquishment form authorizing her to be euthanized, and left her behind. Shadow was broken-hearted, and the facility was full- but she was such a sweetheart that a kind Paws and Claws supporter took her in and fostered her, until we had room for her at AVNM. Paw Paws Pet Grooming stepped up and offered to donate their grooming services, and groomed little Shadow (and BonBon our Shih Tzu boy). She came back looking like a tiny movie star! And today, Shadow went home to become a member of the Stempels family, who love to camp in their RV, have a large extended family, and will soon be with the Border Patrol. And Shadow?
