From Grant County Emergency Management: Assistance to Affected Residents: There will be a joint City-County Resident Assistance Center located at the Boscobel City Hall on Monday, 8AM-6PM. Local and County agencies will be available to provide assistance to residents in need. The American Red Cross, Grant County Health Department, Grant County Center on Aging, Grant County Emergency Management, and City of Boscobel will have staff available to work with affected residents. Debris Disposal: The City of Boscobel has made dumpsters available for the disposal of flood-damaged carpeting and belongings for use by city residents. Please call City Hall at 375-5001 for dumpster locations. Cleanup Kits: The American Red Cross and Salvation Army have provided cleanup kits for affected residents. Cleanup kits can be obtained for free at Boscobel City Hall, 8AM-6PM Sunday and throughout the week as needed. Kits include mops, bleach, and cleaning tools to sterilize basements and clean up flood damaged homes. Pumping Basements: Area Fire Departments will be available to pump water and sewage from basements starting at 8AM Sunday. Please call the resident assistance center at 375-5001 for assistance. Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to assist area residents with cleanup. There are many elderly and disabled persons and other families that will need assistance. Please bring gloves and boots. Volunteers should report to the Boscobel City Hall after 8AM for assignments. All Volunteers must register at City Hall. Persons who need volunteer help should call the Resident Assistance Center at 375-5001. Documentation: Residents are encouraged to document all damage with photos and save all receipts. Please report damage to homes. Boscobel Residents should contact city hall at 375-5001 to report damages. Grant County Residents outside of Boscobel should contact Grant County Emergency Management at 608-723-7171. Damage Assessment: Grant County Emergency Management is working with the affected City, Villages, and Townships to compile damage estimates for public infrastructure. Health and Safety Issues: Safety issues associated with floods include Electrical Shock; Exposure to Pathogens, Mold, and many other issues. The Grant County Health Department will have staff available at the Boscobel City Hall on Sunday to discuss cleanup and sanitary issues.
