From Haw River Assembly: This Saturday in Saxapahaw - The 25th Haw River Festival! May 3, 2014, 4-8pm, Saxapahaw, NC. We’ll be kicking off the Saturdays in Saxapahaw Summer Music Series and celebrating the Haw River. It will be a great time on the river! Festival Schedule at a Glance: 4-8 pm Live music on the Hay Wagon Stage 4-6 pm Guided canoe rides on the river for kids 12 and under and stream monitoring demo on the river island 5 pm Medicinal Herb Walk by the river with Crystal Honeycutt (clinical herbalist and Naturopath) 5:15pm Puppet Parade – you can join in! Kayak Raffle! Win a Perception 10 Kayak, tickets $2, drawing at 7:30. Silent Auction! Fantastic works from local artists and crafters, recreational gear and gift cards, and much more – Auction closes at 7:15. Plus booths with river issue and environmental info, the local Farmer’s Market, Haw River T-shirts, Food Trucks and More!!!! There’s no admission charge, but donations are gratefully accepted to support the projects of the Haw River Assembly.
