What can mentors do when faced with more mentoring requests than they can accommodate? In 2000, a group of motivated new interpreters came up with a proactive answer to these questions. This presentation explains the peer mentoring model of their group, TruBiz, an independent study group that led eight pre-certified practitioners to certification. Panel participants will share their experiences and tips with the audience on how to set up or be an advisor for a successful peer mentoring group. Learn how the group planned skill development activities, worked with a liaison to find community support, and offered each other structured, positive accountability.
