From Julie: UPDATE ON ELAINA: She is cleared to be around others, BUT she cannot do any running around and playing stuff or be around anyone who is obviously ill. As to her diet, she started over on the soft foods diet the day she had her 2nd surgery. What does this mean for her? Well, she can go to church, BUT she has to stay with us and cant run around at all or be around anyone who is sick. She can go to VBS, BUT she cant do any of the games, she has to stay with us, she cant be around anyone who is sick, and we have to bring her her own snack since she will not be able to eat most of the cookies or other things offered. She will stay on a soft food (i.e. anything liquid, soft or melts/dissolves in the mouth easily) diet through next Monday. We still have to watch her, but these are all steps in the right direction. Please, please, do NOT get offended by this but do NOT offer her ANY food or candy if you see her over the next week and a half. She cannot have most things yet, but I will let you know when she can because I know she loves those little treats and your thoughtfulness, as do I. :) She just has to wait another week and a half to enjoy those things again. Also, if you have a cold, are running a fever or otherwise ill, PLEASE do not come hug on her, get in her face, etc. She still cannot be around illness. I know there are a lot of you that have worried over her, prayed for her and are dying to let her know that you are thrilled she is doing so much better and we want you to be able to do that, but if you are ill, you will have to do it from afar so that we can keep her healthy and not send her back to the hospital. Her immune system has been through a lot these last few weeks, so it is going to take a little bit before shes back to 100% in that area. Thanks so much for understanding! :) Again, thank you for your continued prayers for her. They have made all the difference! It is so nice to see my little girl acting like my little girl again.
