From Loxion to the mansion 2 Ten years later Spha got out of prison. When he walked out of there he felt like a changed man. I suppose he had enough time to think about life, like what he wanted to do with his, crime was not an option. He also had enough time to ask himself life hardest questions. Questions he never asked himself before, like what was the meaning of life? Why he was born? Was he destined to suffer like his mother did or like his uncle was - whom apparently was a dead man walking? He didnt even got shocked when they told him that he had also passed on. According Spha he died before his physical death. He died when he lost everything, when his wife and children died. Spha asked himself if there was more to life than what he knew or would he end up like his father -rot in jail like him? Besides an apple doesnt fall far away from the tree, he had heard them say. While Spha was behind bars he had an opportunity to meet and old man who changed his perspective about life completely. He was told that the old man had been there for more than 30 years. He seemed like the oldest person there, if Spha was not mistaken the old man was in his seventies, he had always boasted that he had seen lot young men like Spha more than any other person coming in and coming out of prison and going back there again. He explained to Spha what could be the real cause of that. The problem with these generation, they focus more on the effect than on the cause of the problem. he told him. You see you can take the pig out of the mud and clean it up but unfortunately you cant take the mud out of the pig... You get what I am saying? the old man asked one day when they were having a conversation while they took their daily scroll around the prison exercise yard. The old man liked to take scrolls while they were talking, he said it made him to think better. Yes I do. What you are saying is; you must take the mud out of the pig before you can take the pig out of the mud? Spha answered, obviously he was a fast learner. Exactly! Change begins in or with the mind first, not with the behavior and what these people are doing, they send young boys like you here to do time, thinking prison will rehabilitate you, but the sad thing is prison never rehabilitated anyone. And they know that. Tell me how could you expect to withdraw what you have never deposited? You see every change begins with the mind, they must work on the mind more if they dont want all of you to be back in here before even the end of the week youve been set free... Trust me I have seen it. the old man added. Spha had a lot to learn about the power of the mind while he served his sentence there. The old man taught him everything he knew about the power of thoughts or the mind. Like how his thoughts influenced or created his life. Thoughts are very powerful. We are all where we are because of our thoughts. Remember we are the the total sum of the thoughts we think. the old man once told Spha. I guess its true what they say for every dark cloud theres a silver lining. because as much as Spha felt like he had screwed up when he went to prison, somehow he also felt like going to prison was the best thing that ever happened to him. Otherwise he wouldnt have learned all that he had learned if he didnt go to there. But he also knew that not everyone who went to prison was going to be lucky like him to find a teacher and mentor to teach him. Change your thoughts, change you life. this was the old mans slogan.
