From Melly Georgewill .... in response to one of Ross Alabo-George s one sided VERSE OF THE DAY : With due respect to the author, the post is nebulous and all over the place with regards to its thrust. However, let me state from the outset that should it seek to know who would do better with Boko Haram, then it is easy to say that the incumbent has been dreadful in his efforts. A GMB with the most antiquated of military trainings and successful campaigns under his belt is no match for a complete novice that is PGEJ. If the write-up is about an education, GMB has got an education irrespective of your rating. If it is about degrees, I think its unfortunate that we continue irretrievably in the fallacy of equating literacy with a college degree. If it is about continuing education, GMB has never laid claim to being an academic and yet again it is presumptious to suppose that bagging up degrees or further degrees is the only way to prove keeping-up. Ray Kroc, Ben Franklin, Abe Lincoln, Michael Dell, Steve Wozniak, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, Mark Zukerberg, Winston Churchill, George Eastman, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Ralph Lauren, Ted Turner, Rush Limbaugh, Paul Allen, Wally Amos, Dave Thomas, Warren Buffett*, James Cameron, Tom Plucknette, Andrew Carnegie, James Clarke, George Washington, Charles Culpeper, David Filo to mention but a few are all great leaders in their own right. Whatever it is, the lead post is simplistic, unanalytical and yet another feeble attempt at re-opening the Literacy debate. Education is not synonymous with degrees!
