From Multicultural Student Services: Being the first person in your family to pursue a college degree is exciting – but it can also be challenging in ways you may not anticipate. Some first-generation students feel that they lack the support they need to succeed. It may seem like nobody’s “in your corner” – that you’re facing it all by yourself. That’s where First Forward comes in: our Peer Educators and their workshops aim to help first-generation college students develop the skills and relationships they will need to thrive throughout their postsecondary education.
