From Northumbrian Water: Customers in the DH1, DH5 & DH6 areas may be experiencing problems with their water supply, due to a burst main. Our crews are on site and will be restoring the supply as soon as possible. Once the supply is restored you may experience discolour If this occurs please run your supply for 30 - 40 minutes, until it runs clear. I think that those on a water meter will not be prepared to run their taps for "30-40 minutes", unless NW offer a rebate - which is unlikely!
