From Ohio Liberty Coalition... Three important announcements for the the week of 11/18: 1) Help stop Common Core in Ohio. This Wednesday, November 20, at 5:00p.m. in Columbus, there will be a second hearing on HB237 and the question of stopping Common Core in Ohio. The hearing will take place in Statehouse Room 313. We need a good show of support at the hearing as well as volunteers to testify. For Ohio counties with races next year, February 5 is the deadline to file to run for party central committee. Central committee members vote whether or not to endorse candidates and have a tremendous influence over who ultimately appears on the general election ballot. Each voter precinct can send one person to serve and it only takes five signatures to run. Since 1990, states with workplace freedom or right to work laws grew jobs at an average rate 5X faster than Ohio (link). A workplace freedom law simply gives individuals the freedom to decide whether or not to join a union. It does not eliminate unions or take away collective bargaining rights. Volunteers are needed to help collect signatures to put the question of passing a workplace freedom law on Ohios ballot.
