From Page News and Courier 1937... One of the most interesting stories written by Jacob Seakford. He was as honest a man that ever was in Page County..He held the office of Justice of The Peace for the Marksville, Leaksville, Sands {Stanley} area for many, many years...Was a well established businessman and bore a many wells throughout the county with his apparratus and invention for water wells. I have read his articles over and over since 1991. I have no reason to doubt his account of any historical artifact in relation to the history of this county. I am reserving judgment on this story because it seems to far fetched..However I have heard my Mom tell me stories similar to this one and I have no reason to doubt what she told me was true...You read and be the judge...keep in mind this was from a time when alot of unexplained things happened on a regular basis...The area this story speaks of is near Marksville bridge outside stanley and near the old house where Buck Blosser lived.....
