From Pastor Marvin Right now I am sitting at my desk, - TopicsExpress

From Pastor Marvin Right now I am sitting at my desk, breathing in and out and decompressing a bit and thanking God for the unique encounter we had with him this morning at the 11:00 am service. The Holy Spirit empowered and anointed the worship so much that I believe in that moment God overrode and recalculated our plans for his greater purpose. Trinity Church, thank you for giving us freedom to be attentive to the Spirits leading today. For some it might have been a little weird, but we desire to live by this mantra: Where he leads, we go. God is awakening the hearts of his people, and I love what he is doing among us. If you were at the 11:00 am service, then you experienced one big illustration and application of the message we PLANNED for this weekend. Here are some of the verses in my message: The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. Proverbs 16:1 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9 Many are the plans in the mind of man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 19:21 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3 Crazy, huh? We have the responsibility to make plans, but because God is sovereign and we trust him, we must hold all of our plans with loose hands. I dont know why God chose to work that way in the 11:00 and chose to work a different way in the other two services. Sovereignty means he is free to do what he wills when he wills to do it. Gods purposes cannot be successfully opposed. We are creatures and we cannot tell the Creator what to do and when to do it. By his sovereign purpose I think we experienced a unique visitation from our Father today. He gently kissed us. Will this happen THIS WAY every week? No. I think God will uniquely visit us through a myriad of ways: music, preaching, radical hospitality, smiles, hugs, stories, video clips, drama, dancing, extravagant generosity, reading the word, and prayer. The thing I am excited about today is that we listened and responded to the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst, and God was pleased to honor our obedience with people who indicated they received Jesus as their Savior. I celebrate that. I hope we never tire of listening and responding to the work of the Spirit in our midst. Lets keep listening and responding so as to be on mission, AWAKENING PEOPLE TO FULL LIFE WITH CHRIST I love you, Trinity Church Have a great rest of the weekend.
