From Rhynalds Hop Growers of Prague, Ne. "I found that the Ohio Dept. Ag. will be regulating whole cone hop grower- processors like food processor . The process begins with drying . No exposed wood , sealed floors and wash down walls and floors . Also paying for a food license every year and inspections. The grower that I talked to in the last two years has put money in to building a hop yard , a building and tractor. Plus tanks and pumps and plans to close commercial sells next spring due to the new regulations." " Whole cone hops is more a tea than a food and they boil them at least three times before the beer is drank . This is not right.This is something we have to watch and not let happen to us NE grower / processors. "
