From Sean Flanagan Health, Fitness, and Nutrition: Nobody asked me, but I feel like weighing in on the Shape Magazine made a women cover up her loose skin in her weight loss success story topic. Shape Magazine makes their money by selling an idea of fitness that is as accurate as a biology textbook that talks about unicorns being our shared ancestor. Fitness and fat loss to them is all a matter of tips and tricks (and unreasonable expectations). Want to burn leg fat? Well, we cant tell you every single month that a calorie deficit is what is required for losing fat everywhere. Instead, here are some ballet inspired leg exercises that well tell you will burn your fat off Want perkier boobs? Try these chest exercises of course! Go running on an empty stomach and the fat will just melt away. And certainly... you shouldnt lift those heavy weights. You might get bulky etc. etc. It would be a challenge to their narrative that fat loss is a magical process if they were to show that losing 100+ lbs doesnt instantly make you look like an airbrushed model. Clearly their goals as a magazine would be interfered with if they showed the battle scars of large weight loss. That doesnt make their position right. Rather, in context we see what a parasitic institution they are, selling fantasy rather than honesty for a monthly fee and advertising space, consistently.
