From: The Gwinnett Daily Post I have been on the Camp Creek Greenway and granted, it is very nice. That’s the problem, I believe it was paid for by grants from the federal government. #I am all for the Camp Creek Greenway, if and only if though, the people of Gwinnett County and Lilburn specifically are willing to pay for it our of their own pockets and not get grant money from the Georgia Department of Transportation to fund this and a myriad of other projects. These projects, their wonderfulness aside, are not needed when their funding contributes to and exacerbates our country’s debt. Why should the residents of Lilburn or Georgia or any other state enjoy the benefits of a Greenway or bridge or park or road widening or any other project when it is going to have to be paid back with interest by your kids, my kids and our grandchildren, if the American financial system hasn’t already collapsed by then? #We are charging up debt for which we cannot pay back and we are putting that debt on the backs or our children and grandchildren. Is that Greenway so wonderful and the wildlife so spectacular as to incur that kind of insurmountable debt on narcissistic spending projects for our immediate gratification? #Just wondering. #Carlton Smith, Lilburn
