The push of a false individualism to enhance consumerism resulting in people who lose all sense of what should be important. How else can you explain societies where people are more concerned with the last episode of their favorite reality TV show or focus on getting some item pushed on a series of commercials over the the potentially horrible fate their children face with an ongoing environmental crisis?
