From Tuesday to Friday Rembrandt Park brought us 83 learners that rotated through our three camps Hedgehog, Gemsbok and Crocodile. Following the endangered species theme they tried to gain as many points as possible in our activities to save endangered animals. At Hedgehog these were the water conservation game and TNT at night. Besides that they also learned how to build a shelter, make a fire and about medicinal plants in the Bush. Camp Gemsbok waited with Teamwork Challenges, which was not only for points but also brought the teams closer together. Later the kids could relax during the cycling tour and the game drive, where we saw a beautiful variety of animals including the endangered Sable Antelope, the Gemsbok and Springbok. The Enviro Restaurant Challenge at Camp Crocodile filled the whole afternoon and evening. We enjoyed some delicious and eco-friendly meals followed by enthusiastic campfire songs. In the morning the grade sixers learned something about the birds of prey and went down to the river for water studies afterwards. On Wednesday we crawled through mud and water all together, Thursday the 9 teams solved our brainteasing tasks during Initiatives. All in all kids, teachers and staff had a fantastic week and we are all looking forward to next years visit!! Thank you Rembrandt Park!
