From Vicki: I remember the SPCA drive aunty annie....but this was actually an annual occurrence with our family hey..?! He loved doing this every year... Ill see you just now but just wanted you to not forget that you ARE an incredible woman, Derek was hurt about many things but his vision was never clouded when it came to who his family was. I wanted to post this for you and perhaps start sharing with his facebook friends how much more there was to D as I dont think he always portrayed the real person he was. (me and Matt dont have a FB page thats why we created his tribute page under my moms name, just so u know ok as I know you not taking much in when we talk).... Please take a look at the pic below - a lil something not a lot of people knew about D: This was Dereks room in our house - the 3 of us created and built this piece of art over the course of a month. Derek had a really good eye and kept convincing Matt that I wasnt mad for wanting to re-utelize kudu horns in such an obscure manner. He worked so hard on this sothat it could be ready for when my sister in law came to visit from the Bahamas as her husband loved the bush....he pushed me so hard to get this done and said it made the room feel loved. He was very proud of the end result! The rest of the walls in this room (which you cant see on the pic) will now be filled with enlarged photos of D, Matt wants this room as a tribute to Derek - he is torn and says he needs to not allow D to b gone forever. Hope all Dereks friends and family will do the same....
