From a member: First, I never thanked everyone who helped me out a few months back and got me to seek the assistance I needed. It means a lot to know, not only am I not alone but there is support everywhere. I just wanted to share something with everyone here. About 3 weeks ago, I saw an orthopedist at the VA for a torn meniscus. He asked me about my medical history, diet, exercise, etc. Then he threw me off when he asked if my PTSD was under control. He was very direct, I was taken back. I was thinking what business is this of his? Then I realized that when I have surgery Im going to be completely vulnerable and not in control for a good period of time. Has anyone had a surgery and how did you deal with the inherent vulnerability of the surgery and the post - op inability to take care of ones self? Any tips or what to expect would be great. Thanks
