From a message by Bishop Robert L. Fitzpatrick: The [hurricane] - TopicsExpress

From a message by Bishop Robert L. Fitzpatrick: The [hurricane] named Iselle is now expected to make landfall on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi tomorrow (Thursday) evening. It is expected to weaken before reaching Oahu. The second storm, Julio, is still too far out to accurately predict its impact but it may bring the Islands plenty of wind and rain Sunday/Monday. Right now, the first storm is expected to bring Oahu 45–55 MPH winds and 5 to 8 inches of rain starting Thursday night and continuing on Friday. I have, therefore, decided that the Office of the Bishop will be closed on Friday. This will allow the staff to be at home and off the streets during the time of the heaviest rains and wind. For a prayer, I have modified a prayer from the 1928 BCP for our time and place: ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech thee, of thy great goodness, to restrain those immoderate rains and winds, that doth afflict these Islands from time to time. And we pray thee to send us such seasonable weather, that the earth may, in due time, yield her increase for our use and benefit; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Sent with my hope and prayers for the safety of everyone, +Bob The Right Reverend Robert L. Fitzpatrick
