From bahrain -Arjun Mainali,, I really appreciate you taking time in voicing you opinions, comments, half informed historical facts against Gorkhaland... History is a narration of the past... one needs to be not only educated to understand the past but intelligent enough to be able to broaden their world view and knowledge through research... I was in Nepal last year and was appalled when the young students informed me that we - the indians have blatentely claimed that Buddha was born in India and not lumbini in Nepal in our history books... I clarified to them that I had cousins in all different school boards such as Madkymik, ICS, CBSC... and nothing of that sort has been done.. The young kids refused to believe me.. do you know why? They (just like you) have been indoctrinated with the historical facts that your government, your country gives... and likewise your people believe it to be Gospel truth... Now imagine, you are born not in Nepal but across border in Darjeeling or in any other part of India... where we have our own history, our own narration and our own beliefs.... Since you so dont want to believe in our history across border... let me just give a a glimps of the British narration which clearly says that Darjeeling was a CONTESTED land that was fought betweem the kingdom of nepal, Kingdom of bhutan and the kingdom of Sikkim.. Sometimes the Sikkimese king won and had darjeeling for himself... sometimes the king of Nepal won and had Darjeeling under his nepali kingdom... other times the king of bhutan had Darjeeling under his belt.. YOU guys in your country Nepal WANTS to remember or boast only one aspect of the HISTORY.. the other fact that Darjeeling was equally a part of Sikkim and Bhutan - you conveniently forget. So my dear friends please IN YOUR IGNORANCE do not spread false and baseless narration...
