From here to God The space between God and us can seem vast at times. In the Book of Leviticus Moses is instructed to set up a special place for a Divine Encounter: this “tent of meeting” is described for six intricate chapters! But you don’t need to recreate that well-defined space to meet the God we’ve come to know in Jesus. Alphonsus Liguori recommended a greater informality: “Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with him . . . as to the dearest and most loving of friends. Speak to him often of your business, your plans, your troubles, your fears—of everything that concerns you.” Just talk: God is listening!
