From my previous comment in the previous post: We will remain quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. When we are quick to listen, we gain better understanding and insight into the person speaking. A lot of times the Lord can use our quick to listen to reveal to us what He is trying to show us in that person or even in ourselves. When we are slow to speak, we prevent ourselves from opening our mouths and inserting our feet so to speak. Also, when we allow the Lord to bridle our tongues its a win-win. When we are slow to take offense, we will not be easily offending or we will not allow ourselves to relinquish our authority over our lives. We can choose not to let things bother us. We can choose to overlook an offense by recognizing the source of the offense and remembering to leave it to the Lord. The battle isnt ours but the Lords and a lot of times when others may say things to get on our last nerve, it may be an indication that there are deeper issues that are within them and we must pray for them instead. Some who spew out hot manure from their mouths at you are a lot of times revealing how they may actually feel about themselves...another reason to pray and intercede for them. Slow to get angry...well, think of how our lives can be when we can practice taking a step back from what makes us angry, take a deep breathe, exhale slowly and ask the Lord Ok, how should I handle this? BE Blessed and BE Encouraged!
