From our Brothers up North... A.K.A the Snow Frogs Brass Magnet: We were on a range day during BMQ (Basic Military Qualification, or boot camp) for the Canadian Army. After a nice, long day of shooting we were collecting the brass casings. Sgt. K comes up to me and says, Hey Pte. B, why dont you go ask the Lt for a brass magnet to make all of our lives easier? I reply, Yes Sgt. and run approximately 300 m to the truck the course officer was sitting in. Sir, Sgt. K is asking for a brass magnet! The Lt looks at me, smirks slightly and replies with Go ask him if he wants a battery powered magnet or a corded one. So I run back the 300 m to Sgt. K and ask him the question. He is visibly trying to hold back a laugh, and replies with Let me ask MCpl (Master Corporal) T. While hes off asking MCpl T (I hear them laughing in the distance), Pte. D comes up to me and whispers, Dude, brass isnt magnetic... I could barely hold back that laugh as Sgt. K approached me. Corded will do but youll have to get an extension cord. They proceeded to cock me around as such for the next 10 or so minutes, and I couldnt say a thing about it. Thats life on basic for ya...
