From our Harbor Club friend, Vince Mancuso: Schools Matter: .—.School board member I spoke to this week says, like most of us, that LOA should be a K-8, not K-12, school and will work with the new majority to make that happen. Their objective is to make GCHS a place everyone would want to send their kids.------Will the new BOC and BOE majorities step up and kill the LOA bond appeal before it tears our county apart? I’m told that a racial disparity suit is waiting in the wings and that the temporary black LOA enrollment scam will not stop them. Many say that stopping the LOA high school is what this recent election was all about. ----The $14M bond is only the beginning. LOA can’t run a new high school without continuous BOE funding and they don’t have the votes fund it.---------These election results say loud and clear: It’s government’s job to provide equal education opportunity for all. BOE members who supported an LOA high school are goners.------Guess what! HC is still not in the LOA primary attendance zone. After this election, there is little to get the LOA board to change its mind. It’s all about selling real estate. Theirs, not ours.
