Thanksgiving 2014 at Grace Gospel Center. Hosting 40 Naval Recruits for Thanksgiving at Grace Gospel Center. Last Thursday we learned there were 40 young naval recruits at Great Lakes Naval Training Center with no place to have Thanksgiving dinner off base. One week later, church was all decked out, plenty of food donated, volunteers to cook & serve. At 7:00 am, 3 rented vans and drivers picked up our guests and drove them to the church in Bensenville where we all spent the day together. Seems one of the most important things for the recruits was the opportunity to phone home for first time in more than a month. Verison donated the use of 6 cell phones. Church members let the sailors use personal phones and even tables and laptops for video chat with their families.
