From the Bishops Pulpit: My Father’s Business, I’m a Businessman: Existemi (Ex-is-tay-mee)--- Spying Out Your Blessing is Sin and Unbelief, 40 Wasted Years Due to Poor Leadership Being a poor manager over your business or your Father’s business will lead to wasted opportunities and missed blessings. When the people you were called to minister unto, minister to you instead, they will likely lose respect for your leadership. Rather, honor your calling and serve with purpose and standard. Honor your business. You’re a businessman or woman because you’re supposed to be about your Father’s business. Know your target market. Know your audience. According to Numbers 13, the children of Yisrael sent out 12 spies and 10 came back with a bad report. But why? You’re in sin when you spy out your blessing. You are relying on something other than your faith. Why must we send out people to spy out our blessing unless we’re battling some form of unbelief? In relationships, if you’re constantly second guessing and meditating on whether someone is being unfaithful to you, you’re not walking in love. Rather, you are walking in unbelief. Whatever you constantly spy out you don’t have confidence in. Why do you have to spy out something that YHWH already promised you? YHWH already promised the children of Yisrael a land flowing in milk and honey. He forewarned them that they would have to fight to obtain the promise yet the bible says in Hebrews Chapter 4 that a promise was left them. Whenever you have to peer into the future to see if it’s as you’ hoped, you’re sinning. You lack faith. Just live with the hope of knowing that it all is well. YHWH will handle his business so handle yours. Faith is your business. Obedience is your business. Being faithful in your purpose and calling is your business. When you lose hope and faith you go to spy out your blessing. 10 bad leaders convinced an entire nation that they couldn’t do something. (See: Numbers 13) The problem with many organizations and ministries is its leadership. In our own ministry, failed leadership influences others to raise railing accusations against the house and to cause others to question the faith. When you take pride in what you do, you perform at your highest capacity. A standard of excellence promotes and uplifts the house and draws souls unto Christ. Are you unconvincing in your lifestyle, purpose or mandate? Are you sure in your testimony and witness? Because of poor leadership the children of Yisrael walked in the desert for 40 years. Because they spied out the land for 40 days YHWH allowed them to wander in the desert for 40 years. Bad leadership costs. Your business is your calling. Your business is your relationships. Your business is your family. Protect the unity of what you were called to do. It’s your business to do so. What is your business is your obligation to carry out and to deliver –your obligation to deliver results (i.e., value). You are your brand. If you do not represent yourself well others will not have confidence in you. Do what is necessary to get your miracle. Like souls attract and associate with one another. From that association the part derives strength and validation. This phenomenon happens among weak souls and strong souls alike. Everything reproduces after its own kind. Evaluate who and what you attract and associate among. Luke 2:41- “49And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Fathers business?” When you are in your Father’s business there is a confidence. Ministry is not about a church per se but about the souls within it. In order for a ministry to be successful the souls and members must be successful. The whole needs the part to be successful. Christ came that you would live according to kingdom principles and benefits. Are you living according to the fruits of the kingdom? Get in your business and reap kingdom promises. V46 “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.” V47 “And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. Didaskalos: a teacher (concerning the things of YHWH), a doctor Mesos: in the middle, in the midst, amongst Existami: to throw out of position, displace, to amaze, to astonish, to throw into wonderment, to be out of one’s mind; to confuse, taking someone from a belief or idea and utterly changing it, to mentally alter what a person believes so that they have a mental shift. Regardless of your background, those whom you fellowship with, you become. If others respect you for being you, they will respect the house from whence you come—both spiritual and familial. YHWH wants to use you whereby you cause a mental shift in your audience. A standard of excellence can confound the enemy. Have the anointing to astonish all who hear you whether they agree or disagree. Your gift should astonish others. You should have such an anointing that you throw people out of position. Whenever you convince others of what they can’t do that is sinful. Be the person that convinces others of what they can do! The masses are interested in learning from your success. But first, you must have something that is desirable such that you will be sought out. Many are called but few are chosen. Many will come in to hear and within that lot (of those who heard) the chosen will come forth. YHWH wants to bring you to a level where people can’t debate your success. Leadership astonishes. It mesmerizes. It encourages. It compels. Bad leadership does the opposite. It belittles. It imperils. A great leader does what is best for his or her business. Only advertise what you have a testimony in. Play to your strengths and not your weaknesses. A good businessman or woman does this. Numbers 13:1-2 “And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.” YHWH commanded such because of the hardness of their hearts. Compare with Deuteronomy 1:20-23: V22 “And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.” (This was their error.) In order to spy out what YHWH has already promised means you’re unsure. Some of us want to go into the future to ensure that all is well and then be able to have peace in the present but that isn’t faith and whatever isn’t of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23) It’s wrong to bring back a word contrary to what YHWH promised you. Don’t stop until you achieve what has been promised. Bad leaders cannot convince people of something positive. Have an anointing that convinces. Numbers 13:25- Before you try to build up another allow Christ to build you up. Be convicted in your own happiness and peace before you attempt to convince someone else. A promised is left when you don’t walk as you were called—you were called to astonish the masses. That astonishment begins with personal conviction, then tending to your Father’s business and living your brand. Ordination (or a title) doesn’t make you into a good leader. Conviction does. Conviction breeds an ethic, which delivers the goods. #Bishop #SundayBread
