From the Chair of the Knox County Republican Party. All are invited, no matter the political party affiliation, or lack there of. The Knox County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014. This event will be held at the Vincennes University Green Activities Center, located at the corner of First and Harrison Streets, in Vincennes, Indiana. We are dedicating this year’s event to an issue near and dear to Knox County and that is our coal mines and coal fueled power plants. Our keynote speaker this year is award-winning journalist and radio broadcaster Jim Waters. Jim is president of the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions, a free market think tank. His articles have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and on CNN. Jim’s speech, “Federalism and Coal: A Bright Idea Whose Time Has Come” will focus on the constitutionally derived powers states can employ to protect their energy jobs from the onslaught of overregulation by the federal government. The topic is both timely and relevant, as most of us have friends, family, and neighbors who are being hurt by these heavy-handed regulations on one of Knox County’s top industries. Afterwards, Congressman Larry Buschon will offer remarks. A social hour will begin at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:00. A meet and Greet will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 pm for those wanting to spend more time with Mr. Waters, Congressman Larry Buschon, as well as many state and local candidates. Lincoln Day Dinner Tickets are $20.00. The Meet and Greet tickets are $100.00 and include the Lincoln Day Dinner. Guests can sponsor a table for $300 which includes two Meet and Greet tickets and six Lincoln Day Dinner tickets (table for 8). For ticket information or general questions, please call me at 812-887-8665. Linda Painter, Chairman Knox County Republican Party
