From the Doctor Who News Page: Roger Lloyd Pack has passed away. Born on February 8 1944, Roger Lloyd Pack appeared in Doctor Who when he played John Lumic, the creator of the Cybermen in Pete’s World in the Tenth Doctor story Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel (2006). Lloyd Pack was the son of another actor Charles Lloyd Pack (1902-83) and Roger’s most notable role was a regular role in The Vicar of Dibley playing Owen Newitt. Prior to his Doctor Who guest stints Roger Lloyd Pack appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) playing Barty Crouch Sr with his son Barty Jr played by soon to be Tenth Doctor David Tennant whom he would subsequently reunited with in the aforementioned Doctor Who episodes. His other work included The Avengers, Fiddler on the Roof, Jason King, The Protectors, the original series of Survivors and then decades later in the remake series becoming the only actor who appeared in both versions of it, The Professionals, 1984 (1984), The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, Mr Bean, Princess Caraboo, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, Oliver Twist (1999) mini-series, Murder Rooms: Mysteries of the Real Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, The History of Mr Polly (2007), The Catherine Tate Show & Hustle. Roger Lloyd Pack died of pancreatic cancer on January 15 2014, just less than a month before his 70th birthday.
