From the Guardian: " Western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) are found in Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Nigeria. They are under threat of extinction from specialist hunting and habitat loss" Only zoology uses trinomial nomenclature ( the use of var. in botany does not count). So, this gorilla is called Gorilla gorilla gorilla (only the initial word is capitalized). I thought you ought to know.
