From the Illinois Ballot Integrity Project, ballot-integrity.org VOTER ALERT! CHICAGO MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS, Feb.24, 2015! * Already registered, and havent moved recently? Verify your voter registration: chicagoelections/voterinfo.php * Not registered, or have recently moved? To vote next February, you must register (or update your registration) by January 27: chicagoelections/…/register-to-vote-change-of-ad… If you miss the January 27 registration deadline, 1. You can sign up person and immediately vote during the “grace period” (but only on an unreliable touch-screen voting machine): chicagoelections/…/grace-period-registration… 2. Or, you might possibly be able to register and vote on election day in certain precincts chicagoelections/en/voting.html VOTE ON PAPER – IT’S SAFER! Please vote in your precinct, on a paper ballot, on election day – its the best way to insure that your vote will be counted correctly, and in the case of a recount, that your vote will be counted correctly again. The second-most reliable way to vote is by absentee ballot, hand-delivered to Chicago Board of Elections: chicagoelections/…/absentee-voting-and-voting-by… We advise against “grace-period voting” (see above) and early voting. Youll be forced to use a touch-screen voting machine because paper ballots are not offered at these times. These machines produce a paper trail that isnt used in the vote counting and may not reflect the votes recorded by the machine. See Jon Stewarts comments: https://youtube/watch?v=qMQMePcKLBc We advise against mail-in ballots. They can get lost in the mail, and they are out of public view before they get counted. Serve as an election judge - It pays! We need honest, helpful election judges who take the time to get fully trained and to show up on election day. Our democracy is worth it! chicagoelections/…/serving-as-a-judge-of-electio… Please pass to your contacts - thanks!
