From the Northeast Indiana Friends of Public Education. Here is another letter about the SOBE from Curtis Ransom. This was in this mornings Journal Gazette, but we couldnt find the link on line. EDUCATION HENCHMAN REVEALS UGLY TRUTH Gordon Hendrys opinion piece (Ritz stands alone in education obstruction, July 17) clearly explains the problems in Indianas education system. Everybody should be grateful for his explanation. Hendry starts out with self-appraisal. I would say that he has set a new standard for egoism and arrogance. Perhaps Indiana should use some of the $2 billion surplus to erect a statue of Hendry and place in on Monument Circle in Indianapolis. The Center for Education and Career Innovation is the brainchild of tea party Republican Mike Pence, Indianas part-time governor. The purpose was to eliminate the superintendent of public instruction and Glenda Ritz and make the job an appointed job, with our part-time governor, appointing a person of his choice. According to media reports these flare-ups and chaos have been a result of the members of the CECI. They have shown no respect for Glenda Ritz nor her position as superintendent of public instruction. What is laughable here is that Hendry claims that the members of the CECI are a group of professionals. They sound like a bunch of spoiled brats to me. Hendry says he hopes that Glenda Ritz will work with them to promote their agenda. And if Glenda Ritz doesnt work with them, then they as professionals are still going to get the job done. The Glenda Ritz fiasco is all of Mike Pence, Indianas part-time governor. Pence started this mess, and Pence needs to clean this mess up. He needs to eliminate CECI and those appointed professionals. He needs to lay aside his ego and arrogance and work with Glenda Ritz and support her efforts for the good of education in Indiana. Gordon Hendry has pointed out the problems here--and we have learned that the problems are them. So now everybody knows. Curtis J. Ransom, Spencerville
