From the Pastor: News letter August 2013 All the water of the ocean cannot sink a ship unless the water starts getting inside. All the troubles in the world cannot sink a human being unless those troubles invade the inner life. Inward strength is what counts in the long haul. Some, though hard and inflexibly seem strong outwardly but resilience, bounce back, inner tenacity is what produces in life. There’s a vast difference between toughness and hardness. They won’t ever give, but when the pressure gets too heavy, they break. Toughness comes from within growing from the development of inner resources. This is what makes a good Finisher, and it’s the finish that counts in the pay off. Some start like a jet but fizzle out before they finish. Their energy’s spent. Other starts slow but they endure. They may lose battles but they win the war. They get hit but they bounce back. Nothing stops them because they have inner resources that surface when things get rugged and rocky. The surest way to build these inner resources is steady consistent use of the Bible: read it, studying it, memorizing it. This combined with prayer renders one unbeatable. Bible believing God-fearing men and women comprise the backbone of our nation. Our nation is most vulnerable when we forget and neglect the Bible. It also makes one invulnerable. It guarantees maximum national strength. “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” - Isaiah 40:31
