From the Pastors Heart: But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18) What do we look like to others? What image are we reflecting on a daily basis? Perhaps we can take the opportunities that God presents to look at ourselves in trying circumstances and see what image we reflect. Is it a reflection of the glory of the Lord? Even in our successes, do we look like Him? Recently my son pointed out to me that Ray Allen, a prolific shooter on the World Champion Miami Heat basketball team does not display a lot of emotion when he makes or misses a three point attempt. Unlike others who shimmy down the court, or pretend to be on the telephone, etc. all in an effort to bring attention to themselves. If we are maturing in the Lord, we are being transformed into His image by the work of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, depending on our actions, this transformational process can be painful. Allow the Holy Spirit to have His way. Receive the Blessing of God.
