From the album: Timeline Photos By David Jesus Follower Cooke TIME TO WAKE UP !! NO LAZY CHRISTIANS ! Refuse to sit on the sidelines and be a lazy ,uninvolved , passive ,compromising Christian. Really what kind of Christian is that ?So easy to confess Christ and take on the name of Christian and still be very much dead in sin and void of life in the Son.Complacency has no place in our lives.We press on ! WE RUN THE RACE ! We are diligent to make our calling and election sure ! We guard our hearts with ALL DILIGENCE ! We are vigilant and sober-minded and will not fall into the traps of the devil ! We can do all this by the power of the Holy Spirit and the enabling grace of God !! If we fall we get back up and keep moving forward for we have put our hand to the plough ! We will not look back like Lots wife will we ? Luke 9:62No man having put his hand to the plough ,and looking back ,is fit for the kingdom of God. WE HAVE NO EXCUSES DO WE ? GOD HAVE MERCY ON US !! JESUS SAID THE HARVEST IS RIPE BUT THE LABORERS ARE FEW !!! HOW CAN THIS BE MY FRIENDS? WHAT ARE WE DOING ? WE ARE SOLDIERS AND THE WORLD IS A BATTLE GROUND FULL OF LANDMINES.THIS WORLD IS NOT A PLAYGROUND BUT MANY ACT LIKE IT IS !! ALL SOME DO IS JUST ATTEND CHURCH AND THATS ALL.They are a once a week so-called Christian still full of self thinking they have a one way ticket to heaven while they enjoy the world and carnal pleasures !! But that is not what a New Creation in Christ looks like !! 1.NO SHORTCUTS TO HOLINESS ! We must pursue God in order to grow in godliness ! We mortify and put to death the deeds of the flesh !We take time to be holy , we do not waste our time ! We cannot cut corners , ignore responsibilities and render ourselves inactive in our spiritual lives ! NO WAY ! AND WE MUST FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION TO GO OUT INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL !! 2.Rom.12:11 says to be fervent in spirit. Titus 2:14 says to be zealous for good works.1st Tim.6:12 says to fight the good fight of faith.Rom. 8:13 says to mortify the deeds of the flesh.James 4:7 says to submit to the Lord and resist the devil. Phil.3:14 tells us to press toward the mark...2nd Peter 1:5 says to give all diligence...This list is endless and it would be good for you to look up these scriptures and see that we must be active in our walk with God and not spectators sitting on the sidelines ! 3.TO BE PASSIVE :This means to be lazy and to be wasteful.Laziness is not a virtue but a vice.It is destructive and leads to nothing because it invests in nothing.Life is like a bank you get out of it what you put in it. Are you making investments daily in your life and the lives of others ? 4.GET EXCITED AND ENTHUSIASTIC about serving the Lord ! Stir yourself up now. Passivity in the Christian life invites compromise which opens the door to all kinds of sin.There are harmful consequences to being lazy and slothful.We just cannot afford to neglect God , His holy Word and prayer and expect the Lord to use us. 5.Lets wake up out of our slumber and lets fan the flames of complete total devotion to Jesus in 2014 ! Be determined to move forward and not be lukewarm and ineffective ! We can overcome every obstacle in our path.God wants you and me to bear abundant fruit this year. 6.LIFE IS NOT EASY BUT WE KEEP PRESSING ON IN JESUS.We do not float toward the goal. Dead fish float and we are not dead but alive in Christ.WE ARE LIKE LIVING FISH WHO SWIM UPSTREAM AGAINST THE CURRENTS OF THE SINFUL CULTURE ! 7.We must be earnest.We must be fervent in these last days of apostasy ! The lazy ones lose control of their lives and destinies and waste their lives in trivial easy pursuits that please the flesh ! Dont be one of them ! Brother David Cooke (Share as the Lord leads you)
