From the depths of Hunky Dory, I give you: Rock N’ Roll. I hope we as a culture never forget about the likes of musicians like David Bowie. His ability to master the realm of pop music, while developing in and traversing through the contemporary genres over the years. And this isn’t your everyday, average, run-of-the-mill copycat, pop artist. In no way shape or form do I mean to insinuate that. I am talking about a veritable tactical chameleon of what will strike people through, and with the unerring precision of craft-workers like Shakespeare. Bowie doesn’t do what he thinks people want, he sees what people want, and hands it to them in a way they end up feeling like they obtained organically. To deliver what the masses want, while simultaneously letting your innards fly forth unfiltered, is a dream come true….a not-so-cliched stroke of genius. This is some seriously good shit, folks. Hats off to you Mr. Bowie. Keep it comin’….. …….and kids, just try to remember: pop music used to very, very cool. There are some keepers back there.
