The process of making family packs ( 25 to 30 kg of ration with candles, match box etc.), collection and verification of data and distribution. A bit complicated due to access- from the big cities material comes to Rishikesh in big vehicles and then reloaded as per village needs and primarily as per roads in smaller vehicles. 3rd step is to unload and reload it in smaller jeaps and then - the walk !! In Uttarkashi , where a large part of roads do not even exist now, porters charge 600/- to 1000/- for a load of 25 kg and walk & climb for hours to reach the cut-off places ..
