From the first time Shannon McKenna stepped on stage, she called the spotlight her home. She pursued her passion at a competitive performing arts high school and onwards, graduating from New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Theater. To expand her physical theater repertoire, she began taking trapeze classes at Canopy Studios in Athens, Georgia. After a year, she enrolled in a two-year professional development program at The New England Center for Circus Arts. There, she worked with several American and international masters of circus arts, discovered an interest in pushing her body to it’s extremes by training contortion, and diversified her means of theatrical expression through corde lisse, aerial silks, and trapeze. She performs all over the country as a solo artist and with the aerial company Girls on Trapeze. Her most recent adventure has taken her to Dallas, Texas to help teach flying trapeze at Skyline Trapeze and teach aerial silks and rope.
