From the moment I graduated from medical school, I have consistently fought for universal health insurance in the form of Medicare for all. So watching Pres. Obama and his Democratic majority pass a law that reinforced all of the problems in the current sickness care delivery system was, to say the least, incredibly disappointing. Every civilized country in the world has universal health insurance for its citizens, except the richest country in the world, the United States of America. Now you may say I am a dreamer, but Im not the only one, as John Lennon wrote so poignantly back in the early 1970s. We need Medicare for All not only on a moral basis, but to reduce the cost of health care by at least 30%, which would be enormously helpful in our raggedy economy. LIKE AND SHARE
