From the moment the black flag with the Shahada (The Islamic - TopicsExpress

From the moment the black flag with the Shahada (The Islamic testament of faith) appeared in the window of the Lindt cafe’ in Sydney any doubt I had that the hostage situation was being carried out by a Muslim extremist. Now the siege has come to an end with 3 people reportedly dead including the hostage taker Iranian-born Man Haron Monis, we will once again play linguistic gymnastic to avoid calling out Islamic extremism. The so-called liberals will swarm to label anyone who is willing to speak out and tell the truth an Islamaphobe, silencing them with accusations of bigotry. I refuse to be drawn in by this ludicrous tactic that has been a shield for radical Islam for too long, as someone from a Muslim background nothing is more insulting and abhorrent to me than the use of Islam as justification for murder and terror. When people have the courage to stand with me to condemn and fight back against radicals and their appeasers I applaud them, I don’t vilify them as Islamaphobes. We have an issue here, whether this man was a lone wolf or part of terrorist cell, we have individuals who are being inspired by extremist ideologies and are then committing attacks against innocent civilians. Yes extremism exists in all religions and ideologies, but it is not Islamaphobic to say we have a definite issue in Islam which far dwarfs all others, yet we are scared to talk about it or indeed the motivations for it. We seem to want to talk about the individual and not the ideology that drives them, because that is key. The ideology that flew planes in to the world trade centre and held people hostage in Sydney is one and the same. One of the hall marks of radical Islam has been when it is on the rise, it kills scores of other Muslims, for not being the right kind of Muslim, so for the apologist for radical Islam, they do a great disservice to all those who have suffered because of the ideology, Muslim and non-Muslim. For once can we actual think about the victims, those who have lost their lives, those whose lives have been changed forever, we seem to forget about the real victims of terror as we fall over ourselves to make excuses and justifications for such acts. Lets be honest for a change, everyone lets be honest, no bigoted, not irrational, nor in denial, lets stand diagnose the extremism, lets call Islamic extremism what it is and then we can start defeating it, because long after ISIS, Al Qaeeda etc are long gone the ideology will endure, has it has for centuries, but by denying the motivations, we have no chance. How many more people have to suffer? How many more people have to wave goodbye to their loved ones in the morning never to see them again, how many more people will have to live with constant trauma before we say no more. If this makes me Islamaphobic then so be it, I’m not allowing the apologists for Islamic extremism to silence my criticism and frustration of those who commit evil in the name of Islam. No more!
