From this fish thats good for brains list Id skip the swordfish - TopicsExpress

From this fish thats good for brains list Id skip the swordfish (way too much mercury risk), limit the overly salted versions and go for wild/sustainable. Or at least try, whenever reasonably possible, to choose only fish (farmed or wild) that is a best choice or good alternative according to the Monterey Bay Aquariums Seafood Watch website or app which you can easily google). But reinforces that if youre going to eat flesh, it is likely that overall, fish is the flesh of choice. My focus is increasingly on sustainable, especially small forage fish like unsalted or minimally salted sardines (especially Pacific caught, which the company Wild Planet will be making available this spring - using Season brand for now). If fresh anchovies (very sustainable small forage fish) were available Id go for it, but alas all I can find is in a can salted to high heaven. And no, I dont think youd make pizza remarkably healthier by topping it with anchovies. Youd be better off loading it with fresh veggies and making cheese pizza rare. Even minus the cheese, the salt in the crust and sauce, as well as the belly boosting calorie density of pizza crust, deserve a cautionary (portion & frequency control) note. But enjoy the rare occasion you do - life is all about balance. Just be honest about what balance is so you dont fall into a trap of rationalizing everything under the frequently false guise of all in moderation. Hope that helps you in finding where Reality Meets Science (tm)! Make it a great week!
