Fruit Tip: If you are planting new berry-producing plants or fruiting trees, remove all the flowers this year to focus the plant’s strength into making stabilizing, nutrient-sourcing roots and not into producing fruits. The exceptions to this rule are day-neutral strawberries. If you want fruit this year and the plants are healthy, after removing all the flowers until July, go ahead and allow them to set a small late-summer crop.
