Full details of Ondo PDP case and how Court sacks Mimiko’s exco and endorses Ogunye’s team A Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, yesterday sacked the Ondo State executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, put in place by Governor Olusegun Mimiko. The court made the order following an application by 29 members of the party in the state, including state executives led by Dr Olu Ogunye and some aspirants to the House of Representatives. The sacked executive of the party is led by Mr. Clement Faboyode. Other members of the Faboyode-led executive are Messrs Banji Okunowo, Barrister Kunle Olowu and Abayomi Opeoluwa. The court, in its ruling issued an order stopping the Faboyode executive committee from “parading themselves as chairman, auditor, publicity secretary, assistant public relations officer, financial secretary and legal adviser respectively.” The court also ordered them to stop performing forthwith any function relating to the listed offices of the Ondo chapter of the party, pending determination of the case. Justice Adeniyi Ademola, who granted the orders after hearing counsel to the plaintiffs in the case, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN, however directed the plaintiffs to serve the originating summons and other court processes in the matter on the defendants by advertising them in two national daily newspapers to wit: Nigerian Tribune and the National Mirror Newspapers circulating in Nigeria. Hearing of the motion on notice has been fixed for January 15, 2015. The court also ordered the PDP, its National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, National Secretary, Prof Wale Oladapo, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to relate immediately with the executive headed by Dr Ogunye with respect to the conduct of primaries and elections to various offices in the state, pending hearing of the motion on notice. The court, by yesterday’s ruling recognised Ogunye as the party’s chairman, Tunji Muje as its auditor, Comrade Gani Muhamed as publicity secretary and Ademuji Rotimi as assistant PRO. Others are Ore Olowoneye as financial secretary, P. O Akinbohun as legal adviser and Ajibola Owoeye as organising secretary. It will be recalled that another court had earlier recognised the Ogunye- led executive as the authentic leadership of the party in the state. The court specifically ordered that the relevant authorities should deal with the Ogunye-led executive in the conduct of primaries into the offices of the state House of Assembly, House of Representativesand the Senate. The court also ordered that the relevant authorities must also relate with the Ogunye leadership with respect to the running of affairs of the party in the state, pending the hearing of the motion on notice. My Take: D Sun wud surely shine in Ondo State!!!.
