Full race report to come soon...or as soon as I can manage not - TopicsExpress

Full race report to come soon...or as soon as I can manage not taking frequent naps. Lol. But wanted to post a preamble... Yesterday was definitely tough yet awesome in so many ways...and a great kickoff to my birthday week. #IMAZ 2015 sold out today in record time for very good reason. The volunteers are absolutely amazing with some awesome fun aid stations. I realized too how much I missed the mass #IRONMAN swim starts and the spectacle it is. The bike course was definitely a challenge with the crazy headwinds, gusts, and lots of athletes experienced flat tires (Coach Nicole to post a report on that soon, lol). Favorite part of the run course...the BACON STOP! There was a tri club that had a tent serving up bacon to which I happily helped myself. As always, its a treat hearing Mike Reilly saying YOU ARE AN IRONMAN as you cross the finish. Yeah, that never gets old. Most of all, it was amazing having so many familiar faces on the course cheering me on, the best Sherpa crew both on the ground and back at home, my teammates from IRONMAN Foundation out in full force, and an awesome coach giving me encouragement throughout the entire process and on race day. I definitely gave this one everything I had - and despite not meeting my initial time goal, I managed to PR by 37 minutes overall (13:50:45) and on all three legs of the race (Swim-1:32:10, Bike-7:09:11, Run-4:58:54). There were some dark moments for me out there, but I managed to hold it together raced my heart out. Im thrilled, tired, sore, and stiff - and it was all worth it! Thank you all for your love and support. I was truly touched and floored by all the posts, texts, and emails. You guys rock and continue to inspire and motivate me every single day! Heres to an amazing training year and awesome race day. Cheers and thank you!
