Funbrella Fact Friday! Thinking about getting a patio umbrella but dont know what size you should get? The size of your umbrella will determine how much shade your space will receive. Think about how much shade you want and how much room you have. Overcrowding your patio with too large an umbrella won’t look good, and going too small will not provide the desired shade. As a general rule of thumb, patio umbrellas should ideally be table width plus an extra 2 feet per side if possible. For example, if you have a 4 foot round table, look for an umbrella that’s 8 feet in diameter. It is important that the umbrella extend well beyond the edge of your table so that people will receive ample coverage from all angles of sunlight.
