Funeral arrangements for Uncle Paul... Thanks everyone for your kindess!!! Mr. Paul Ernest Blevins age 76 of Mount Vernon, Kentucky passed away on Monday July 29, 2013 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon. Mr. Blevins was born in Norwood, Ohio on October 1, 1936, a son of the late Justin Elmer and Lucy Francis Rogers Blevins. He was a retired dairy farmer, enjoyed bass and crappie fishing, gardening, NASCAR, University of Kentucky basketball and was a member of the Providence Church of Christ. On April 5, 1958, he was united in marriage to Janet Louise Thompson Blevins, and from that union came three children. Mr. Blevins is survived by his wife of fifty-five years: Janet Louise Thompson Blevins of Mount Vernon, Kentucky; Two sons: Ernie Blevins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rusty Blevins (Lisa) of Hendersonville, Tennessee; One daughter: Paula Mink (Keith) of Brodhead, Kentucky; Five grandchildren: Allison Alexander (Terry), Adam Mink (Rebecca), Carlee Blevins, Marissa Blevins, LeeAnn Blevins; Two great-grandchildren: Gracie Lynn Mink, Emma Kate Mink; Three brothers: David Andrew Blevins of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Carl Curtis Blevins (Sharon) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Bobby Lee Blevins (Debbie) of Science Hill, Kentucky; Four sisters: Wanda Ann Proctor of Berea, Kentucky, Carolyn Jean Sluss (Bill) of Unionville, Indiana, Betty Sue Sutton (Ted) of Williamsburg, Ohio, Martha Ellen Hamm (Paul) of Brodhead, Kentucky and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Besides his parents, Mr. Blevins is preceded in death by one brother: Justin Glenn Blevins; and one sister: Ina Mae Cash. Funeral services for Mr. Paul Ernest Blevins will be conducted on Friday August 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Danny McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Paul Ernest Blevins will be held on Thursday August 1, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday August 2, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of contributions to the Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be made at his online registry at marvineowensfuneralhome.
