Funeral service for Shiu Hang Che - ‘No. 1’ - QSM ( Rtd. ) A funeral service for Mr Shiu will be held at St. Christophers Chapel, Devonport Naval Base, Tuesday 13 January at 1000. Rig: RNZN 2W Negative Swords. Mr Shiu passed away peacefully in North Shore Hospital on 29 December 2014 aged 88. Mr Shiu served in the Royal Navy from 1947 to 1957 and in the Royal New Zealand Navy from 1957 until his retirement on 1 August 2014, having served in HMNZS ROYALIST, BLACKPOOL, ROTOITI, PUKAKI, TARANAKI, OTAGO, WAIKATO, CANTERBURY, WELLINGTON and PHILOMEL. Live streaming of the funeral will not be possible, however, the intention is to video the service and upload to social media as soon as possible.
