Funny... from 1995 to 2005, I was put down as a DJ, by my peers (wtf is that, we should support each other, not put each other down...) and the crowd, for spinning too much radio, Hiphop, and Top40 music and not enough House. REALLY? In keeping up with music trends, and actually liking the idea of radio music, I simply added it to my very well established House experience. I saw the future of radio music dominating the market and I simply just wanted to be a part of it, in expanding my career and for the sheer joy of the challenges. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT, yet, I was heavily criticized for it and had to live with the backstabbing from it all. I said nothing, but lived with the hurt all these years. Being a quiet professional carries alot of pain. It rides on you and you never forget the unnecessary and hurtful words, even as you move on. Now, after seeing the vision of it all back then, guess what dominates the charts and the clubs....radio, Hiphop and Top40. I now spin more House/EDM, and places hire me for that, and I put down for not playing enough Top40, when clubs hire me for strictly House/EDM. This is ridiculous what I have to go through, spinning my music. Mashups are a great way to satisfy both, but yet, its still not good enough for the assholes who yell at me for playing too much Techno. Piece of advice 👉JUST ENJOY THE MUSIC, CHILDREN. People, just leave me alone. I can spin anything and have spun everything in my 29 years. My job as a DJ is NOT just to please people, but push new music, too. LEARN TO ENJOY MUSIC, NOT JUST WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. PERIOD. #dealwithit #respectthedj
